Addition to the Walls and Floors fleet

Walls and Floors has added to its fleet of delivery vehicles, with a new 7.5 tonne Mitsubishi Canter.
This brings our delivery fleet up to 15 vehicles, allowing us to extend our service to our growing retail customer base.

Walls and Floors is a leader in providing Home Delivery in Tiling to retail customers in a efficient and timely manner whilst maintaining great value for our customers.

The new vehicle is sponsored by one of our main suppliers British Ceramic Tile (BCT). BCT manufacture a wonderful and varied range of wall tiles which are produced in Devon and are at the forefront of the Domestic UK Tile Industry.

New Walls and Floors tile studio - Putney, London (01/06/10)


Walls and Floors is pleased to announce that we will be opening a new tile studio in Putney, West London 1st June 2010.

The tile studio will showcase all our main suppliers in a design studio format. Amongst the suppliers that will be shown, include; Porcelanosa, Villeroy and Boch, Versace, Pavigres, British Ceramic Tile, Johnson Tile, Pilkingtons, Rubi, Heat Mat. Schluter Systems and Bal Adhesives.

The studio is situated at 135 Lower Richmond Road, Putney, West London, SW15 1EZ. It will be open to business for Retail consumers, Trade and Architect / Specification customers from June 1st 2010 - so look out for final details as we approach the opening date.

Thieves steal floor tiles from English church


Thieves have stolen priceless floor tiles from a Norfolk church in what is believed to be the first theft of its kind.

The irreplaceable tiles – which have been in place for over 500 years – were taken up from the entrance porch of the historic St. Peter’s Church in Crostwick, near Norwich.

The church is hidden from the road and discovered only by exploring the common on which it stands. The tiles are thought to date back to when the porch was built in 1504, with money bequeathed for that purpose.

Some of the tiles were deliberately smashed so that others could be freed, so even those that have been left in the Grade 1 listed church are ruined. Police believe that the tiles were stolen to order. The rector, the Rev Andrew Beane, said: "It is utterly unbelievable that someone can feel that they can just help themselves to these unique and precious tiles. I cannot imagine for one moment this was a spontaneous theft. Someone planned this and stole to order." Crostwick Common, where the church stands, was made famous by a Sir Alfred Munnings painting at the beginning of the last century.

Quarry Tile Maker CLOSES (25/11/08)

Our last quarry tile factory Ruabon of Wales has ceased production after over 100 years, with the loss of many traditional tile makers’ jobs and our final home made quarry tile, it is a sad day for our manufacturing industry and consumers. Many traditional properties and commercial buildings have had the benefit of Ruabon Quarry tiles and once our stocks have been sold replacements or spare parts will no longer be available.
