DESCRIPTION

HG cement, mortar and efflorescence remover (HG limex) cleans off stubborn cement film, mortar residues and white salt deposits. This is efflorescence. It is especially suitable for porous and rough textured floors and walls. Dampen the surface beforehand with water. Then apply HG cement, mortar and efflorescence remover (HG limex) diluted with water with a scrubbing brush. Allow a few minutes for the product to work, scrub well and rinse off with water. One litre is enough for a surface area of 15 to 35 m². Use HG quick on floors when cleaning for the first time to remove the very last remains of cement.

I have just had full bodied and vitrified porcelain tiles laid and was told not to clean them for 24 hours. now they are quite badly marked. will this product clean off the marks?
wendy orchard | 8 Jun 2019

Hi Wendy

It depends on what the tiles are marked with. This product or the LTP Grout Stain Remover will work to remove any leftover grout haze or cement from installation, which is the most likely occurrence after floor tile installation. If it is just general dirt, a good intensive cleaner like the LTP Grimex will do the job:

Question logo
Will this product remove or at least soften old wall tile adhesive?
Robert C Herbstritt | 31 Oct 2018

Answer logo
Hi Robert,

For this to be effective, the majority of the adhesive will need to be scraped off. However, a sanding machine with dust extraction would be much easier. This product can the be used to remove any final residue.

This product is mildly acidic so please double check that the surface the adhesive is stuck to is not sensitive to the solution prior to use.

Question logo
Lino, about 30 years old, was stuck onto floor square red quarry tiles using a glue on top of a thin layer of cement. I have pulled up the lino with most of the thick paper backing and glue but the cement is very difficult to remove. There are patches of up to 6 inches square left. Using a wall paper steamer does seem to help but it is very hard work.
Would yours product be suitable to dissolve the cement? It is about 1 - 2 mm thick in places.
Mary Jefferies | 9 Aug 2018

Answer logo
Hi Mary,

The removal of cement residues requires an acid based solution, so this will be the product you need. It is mainly designed to attack thin films of cement but will help to loosen thicker 1-2mm patches, although it may take a couple of attempts to remove completely. We would recommend trying a test area to start with to gauge what dilution ratio will be required, and to ensure it has no adverse effect on the tiles.

I have cement film over my new slabs, is it safe to use with Animals?
Robert Clint | 23 Mar 2018

Answer logo
Hi Robert

This cleaner contains Hydrochloric Acid so animals should be kept away while work is in progress. However once cleaned, rinsed and dried, the slabs will be perfectly safe.

Do not use on calciferous natural stone types such as marble, travertine, bluestone, slate types or concrete tiles/floors or any other flooring containing the elements. If in doubt, please contact our sales team on 01536 314730 and they will be more than happy to assist you.
