Hi there, is it necessary to use a trim for half wall? I am going up to dado height behind a roll top bath and don't want a dado tile persay. I look at some photos of metro style half walls and can't seem to see trims?! Is it case of being very good with the grout and straight lines?! Can you please advise if this can be done? Thanks
Lisa | 24 Jun 2018

Hi Lisa,

You can finish off the tiles using either method you mentioned however using just grout or silicon across the top edge requires a lot more skill to get a neat finish. A trim like one from the following link works equally as well and can leave a neater line

Kind regards,

Hi - i want to use these tiles for half wall. what trim would i use as want to finish with a full tile at top but the bevel will mean an 8mm trim is too proud? thanks
Mr Paul clark | 2 Apr 2018

Hi Paul,

If you are only going to add trim to full tiles, we would advise a 6mm trim. However these tiles are 7mm at their thickest point at the height of the bevel, so if any cut tiles are likely to meet the trim, you would need 8mm trim to fully cloak the cut edge.

If for any reason you need to use both size trim which will meet at some point, it would be advisable to use the standard straight edge trim so they can be butted together:

Hi What is the best size edge trim to use with these tiles.
Julian | 17 Feb 2018

Hi Julian,

This tile is 7mm at its thickest point so would require an 8mm trim, with the most commonly used being the Silver Aluminium straight edge:
