5 -- Tiles suggested for all residential floors, medium to high traffic commercial floors and wall applications. These tiles are suitable as a floor covering for areas that are subject to severe pedestrian traffic over sustained periods (e.g. public areas such as shopping centres, airport concourses, hotel foyers, public walkways and industrial applications).

DESCRIPTION

Add some sparkle to your kitchen and bathroom floors with our White Sparkle Quartz tiles, this stylish tile will bring a fresh and bright new look to any floor or wall space in your home. Made up of granulated natural quartz, tiny mirror flecks with a high polish finish, they will naturally glisten and reflect perfectly in the light. To get the full effect, why not order a sample tile?

Inherent characteristics

> Our engineered quartz comprises of over 92% natural quartz, with virgin resin & small mirror chips
> By its very nature engineered quartz will feature some shading and textual differences and no two tiles will be the same
> The mineral make-up of quartz contains copper elements which can rise to the surface once processed, polished and cut
> Our quartz has a smooth chamfered edge giving a luxurious finish

Important Note – due to the natural make up of quartz, explained above, its important that the product is dry laid and blended to create and aesthetically pleasing finish before fixing

Suitable for electric underfloor heating

> Suitable for electric underfloor heating with a current no greater than 150 watts, please click on the link for further instructions Click here for our 150 watt under tile heating mats.
> We do NOT recommend for use in areas subject to excessive heat ie behind a hob, or in a conservatory where the heat of the sun is greatly magnified as this can cause the colour pigment to fade

Fixing and maintenance

When fixing these tiles in place, we recommend using a low water content tile adhesive. To create one, mix 1 bag of BAL PTB 1 with 1 litre of BAL AD1 Admix and 3 litres of water.

As with any manmade tile that is polished, microscopic pores can appear during the polishing process which can be susceptible to holding dirt or grout. Seal with LTP MPG sealer, both before and after grouting. When using coloured grouts it is always advisable to test a small area first. For everyday cleaning, we only recommend LTP Waxwash. Please refer to this downloadable maintenance PDF.

Hi. I'm a complete novice and would like these tiles for my bathroom/shower walls. I have a tiler coming in to do my tiling but I was going to buy all the grout/adhesive etc. needed. What is the best accessories to purchase for this job? I also don't understand the comment about dry laid and blended? any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Emma

Quartz tiles require an adhesive with a lower than normal water content, and preferably rapid setting. Our recommendation for the adhesive on the walls is the BAL Rapidflex One substituting 1 litre of mixing water with 1 litre of the BAL AD1 admixture.
https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/bal-rapid-flex-one-white-20kg
https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/bal-floor-tile-adhesive-powders-admix-ad1-additive-for-tile-adhesive

Regarding the dry laying, Quartz is 92-93% natural stone mixed with a resin binder. As such there can be a variation in shade from one tile to the next. The aim of checking shades before fixing is so that you can keep the difference between the adjacent tile to a minimum, keeping the appearance as uniform as possible. Without checking you can sometimes get tiles that contrast in the shade which is not so pleasing on the eye.

Are these tiles suitable with water underfloor heating?
Annie Hayes | 1 May 2019

Answer logo
Hi Annie

Unfortunately, these quartz tiles are not recommended for water-fed heating systems. However, they can be used on 150w electric underfloor heating, providing the cables are encased in 8-10mm of a self-levelling compound, and thermostat for the floor temperature is set to not exceed 27 degrees.

Are these tiles suitable for electric underfloor heating please?
Sarah Elms | 11 Feb 2018

Answer logo
Hi Sarah

These tiles are suitable for 150w Electric Underfloor heating systems only. We would advise that over the cable you also lay 8-10mm depth of a self levelling compound and use the BAL Pourable One Adhesive and AD1 Admixture as recommended in the description.

Hi Tracy,

Although these tiles can be used in bathrooms, we would not recommend this tile directly in wet areas. However they will be fine in areas subject to small amounts of splashing.
