The Alternative Kitchen: Stylish Moroccan Tiles

Love to cook? Then you need to know all about The Alternative Kitchen. If you’re a fan of the Great British Bake Off, then you might remember our friend Stu Henshall, who was a contestant back in 2015. Since being on the show, he has created his own fantastic cooking website. You’ve guessed it; it’s called The Alternative Kitchen. It’s full of fantastic recipes that are easy to follow and, more importantly, very very tasty. From main meals and desserts, through to yummy snacks for throughout the day.

You’ll be pleased to know that Stu is launching a new video series on his website in the coming months, with a different recipe in each episode! You can see the pilot episode featuring Celebrity Juice funnyman Rufus Hound below! For the new series, Stu wanted to create a brand new, on-trend kitchen space in which he can cook up his delicious concoctions. For the tiles, he came to yours truly.

The kitchen has a rustic, industrial feel, and to complement this, we provided a back drop of monochrome mosaic effect tiles with a patchwork Moroccan design. They create a perfect focal point in Stu’s kitchen, and you’ll see them in pride of place in the background in the new series as Stu and his guests cook up a storm. You can view our Grey Goddess Mosaic Decor Tiles here.

Creating this kind of splashback is the easiest way to update a kitchen space. A splashback is an easily wipeable surface that stands behind a sink or cooker, and catches any specks of water or pan fat; protecting the wall behind! To quickly and effectively inject some character into your home this season, simply create a backsplash using tiles! Hexagons, Moroccan patterns and geometrics are hot right now, and so is copper.

Keep your eyes peeled on The Alternative Kitchen for the new series of cooking videos, and subscribe to the YouTube channel for instant updates. We’ll be tweeting and posting about the new episodes as and when they come out, also, so follow us on Facebook and twitter.
