Trend Watch: Mosaic Welcome Art

We’ve spotted a growing trend on Instagram. It seems every week now, we’re tagged in another fabulous piece of mosaic artwork, where our customers have created magnificent entrance ‘mats’ using mosaic tiles! They’re the perfect way to greet guests into the home, whilst flexing some creative muscle at the same time!

Mosaic tiles come on a mesh backing, which is really easy to cut using a craft knife. If you order black and white sheets, you can easily cut out patterns, numbers and letters, and perfect your design before fixing it in place on the floor with adhesive and grout.

The designs below all use our Pixel Hexagonal White Mosaic Tiles, combined with Pixel Hexagonal Black Mosaic Tiles.

The grout still needs to be done but for a DIY Saturday afternoon I am pretty damn pleased with this! • Day 6 – Love it or loath it • The stairwell and those black painted original windows ?. If you swipe left you will see how it looked when I moved in and my god I LOATHED IT!! I know the painted frames arent to everyone taste but I do think it works with the mosaic tiled floor. Theres still a lot to be done like painting the door, some black framed prints on the right wall and I cant wait to have the carpet fitted up the stairs. But for now it’s a hell of a lot better than it was and I do love it. And just like that, we’re back from our trip, it’s been 4 days and somehow it’s become winter since I left. Yesterday I was sweating in a bikini, today I’m 5 layers deep and freezing, welcome home. ? Day 23 @myhousethismonth floor it | my greatest DIY achievement are these tiles, most people would put them in an entrance, not me. Rain wanted to be like mummy ?? I was actually trying to get a snap of the brass plate under the cast iron rad to show you our last minute solution when we needed to attach the radiator before the floor was tiled. Rain just made it better ?
