Reasons to Buy BAL Products
Question: What does BAL stand for? Answer: Building Adhesives Limited.
Once you have chosen the tiles you’d like to use for your project – whether for a wall or floor – the next stage is to fix them in place using an adhesive. You can choose to do this yourself if you’re a confident DIYer. Alternatively, you can hire a professional tiler. Either way, BAL tile adhesive is one of the most trusted brands money can buy. There are options for both walls and floors, which covers all angles – and there are two types of adhesive to choose from – powdered, which you mix with water in a bucket – and ready-mix, which is already a nice thick liquid. You simply have to stir it, and then it’s ready to apply.
When the tiles are fixed in place with tile adhesive, leave them the recommended amount of time to set (the packaging will inform you of the correct time – it ranges from product to product). Once dry, and left the correct period of time, it’s time to grout your tiles. This helps hold the tiles in place, and stops dirt and moisture from getting beneath or behind the tiles. It also plugs those unsightly gaps between the tiles. Choose from our large selection of BAL tile grout for wall and floor settings including superflex, micromax, microflex and wide joint.
BAL also offer a variety of primers and screeds, which allow you to prepare a floor space for tiling. You can create a smooth surface if the floor is uneven, or an even surface if the floor isn’t level. They also offer a range of silicone sealants for running around the edge of your tiling, if working beside a sink or bath tub. This helps to seal the edges, to prevent water from getting behind the tiling.
If tiling a shower, try the BAL waterproofing kit. Coming with step by step instructions, this kit shows you how to effectively waterproofing a shower area or wet room, prior to tiling.
