Q & A

Helen Paspatas10/08/22
Hi. I have these tiles left over from a previous project and want to use them in a new shower installation but the rest of the room will have tongue and groove panelling with a picture rail. Is there a border tile which would match which is picture rail shaped? Our Advice

Hi Helen Thanks for your query. I'm afraid we don't currently have border tile that will work with the White Chapel tile sadly. Kind regards Walls and Floors

Hi, I am thinking of using metro tile . What would you use to finish edges ? thank youOur Advice

Hello Jesca Thank you for your query. Popular choices for finishing metro tiles include tile trims and running a bead of silicone along the edge and smoothing it over. Kind regards Walls and Floors

How do I get a grout colour sample? in the video he shows colour blocks. I can't see where to order themOur Advice

Hi Steven We have samples available of our Norcros 4 Into 1 Grout range. The sample pieces can be purchased via this link: https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/norcros-4-into-1-grout Regards Walls And Floors

Do these tiles have bevelled edge? Some of these brick tiles seem to come with bevel around edge but I require without. Also some are 150 or 152mm size - these same width as Chelsea black mouldings? Our Advice

Hi Martin These are the flat version of the White Chapel, without the bevel, and size wise, although made by a different manufacturer they are compatible with the Chelsea Borders. We would recommend obtaining samples to help you plan your project before making your final decision. If you wish to discuss your project in more detail or to arrange samples or a quotation, please call our sales team on 01536 314730 or request a call-back via the link below, and they will be more than happy to help you. https://ideas.wallsandfloors.co.uk/request-a-callback Regards Walls And Floors

Are these suitable to tile a fire place behind a log burner? Our Advice

Hi Amy These tiles can be used behind a wood burner. However, it is a characteristic with ceramic tiles, that with temperature fluctuations, faint crazing in the glaze can occur over time. To minimise the chance of this happening, we would suggest fixing the tiles with a heat resistant adhesive, such as the Palace Heat Resist. It is also recommended to have a minimum of 2-3mm grout lines, filled with a suitable heat resilient and flexible grout, like the Norcros 4 Into 1 Grout: https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/palace-heat-resistant-tile-adhesive-10-kg https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/norcros-4-into-1-grout If you wish to discuss your project in more detail or to arrange samples or a quotation, please call our sales team on 01536 314730 or request a call-back via the link below, and they will be more than happy to help you. https://ideas.wallsandfloors.co.uk/request-a-callback Regards Walls And Floors

I want to partially use these for our new kitchen. Could you recommend a shade of white paint which goes well with these tiles. Very easy to get the shade of white wrong with paint! Our units are a slate gray and worktops are an aspen ice white quartz colour. Our Advice

Hi Julie, The colours of ceramic tiles are not made to any specific RAL, British Standards or NCS paint codes. Although we would nominally class the tile as a pure white, we would recommend obtaining a sample tile so that you may compare to various paint samples before making your final decision.
