Create a soothing natural look in your kitchen, bathroom or living area with these stylish Burnished Slate Effect Tiles. As their name suggests, they have a realistic slate effect design, but are made from porcelain, so they don't require the treatment and maintenance that natural slate requires. They have a matt finish and a brown hue. For the full effect, order a sample.

Excellent tiles

Again a stunning tile sample from Walls and Floors - have struggled to find this tile anywhere else at a similar price. Beautiful pattern and texture and much nicer than other slate effect tiles I have seen. Very similar to the Bronze Slate Effect and I will almost certainly choose either this or the Bronze Slate Effect if available when we are ready to order.

Are these tiles smooth or textured?
Denise | 8 Jun 2020
Answer logo
Hi Denise,

These tiles are smooth to the touch with ever so slight grip because of the matt finish.

Kind regards,

Question logo
Are they suitable for wet room floor?
KH | 2 Oct 2019
Answer logo
Hello and thank you for your enquiry.

These tiles are glazed porcelain, so can be used in wet areas, however, they are not classified as anti-slip and will provide little grip in wet conditions. We would recommend ordering a sample to ensure it is suitable for your personal requirements, before making your final decision.

If you wish to discuss your project in more detail or to arrange samples or a quotation, please call our Sales Team on 01536 314730, and they will be more than happy to help you.

Question logo
Can these tiles be cut with a normal tile cutter or do they need cutting with a wet or angle grinder? I have been told I have to pay extra to the tiler if they can't be done with a normal tile cutter!
Helen Gibbon | 26 Mar 2018
Answer logo
Hi Helen

These tiles are glazed porcelain so will cut fine on any heavy duty professional tile cutter. Glazed porcelain is now one of the most common types of tile and most professional tilers will have the correct equipment for installation of this type of tile. Our cutter suggestion for this tile would be comparable to TS66 MAX for straight cuts. Wet cutters or angle grinders will still be required (as it would for any tile) for any external angle cuts that may be required.

Question logo
Hi, would these tiles be suitable for a shower - I live in London which is a hard water area so limescale tends to build up. Or should I look at gloss tiles?
Eve Murray | 15 Nov 2017
Answer logo
Hi Eve

Limescale will build up on both matt and gloss tiles alike. However, the streaks would be more visible on the gloss due to their reflective finish.

For cleaning and to assist with the prevention of lime scale build up, you may find the LTP Multiclean Spray very helpful.

Kind Regards
