These tiles look great on the floor! However difficult to lay as they come on very floppy sheets and tiles often fall off the sheets. However worth it for a great price and finish to the floor!

Hi Zaki

If you need a tile trim, a 4mm trim would be best to cover the shallow edge. However we do not stock them, but can get them to order for you.

For more information and pricing, please call our sales team on 01536 314730 and they will be more than happy to help you.

how much should I order for 13.5m2 coverage please, wall and floor
laura mckenzie | 13 Jun 2019

Answer logo
Hi Laura

To cover the exact area, you would require 139 sheets. But for mosaics, we usually recommend (if you haven't done so already) allowing an addition 10% for cuts and wastage, which would be a total of 153 sheets.

Could you tell me if these mosaics achieve R10 + slip rating please.
julie silvester | 6 Jun 2019

Answer logo
Hi Julie

These mosaics have a gloss finish and therefore do not achieve an anti-slip rating and will, therefore, give limited grip in wet conditions. We would recommend obtaining a sample to ensure the finish is suitable for your personal requirements before making your final decision.

Question logo
What do I need to lay these on top of old floorboards in a bathroom?
Sam | 2 Oct 2018
0
Answer logo
Hi Sam,

Tiling directly onto floor boards is not recommended due to the risk of movement and delamination. The floor must be prepared with a cement based backer board, fitted with a thin bed of adhesive (to enable them to be levelled) and screws (to secure). Once that is done, the boards can be tiled onto with a flexible cement based adhesive such as our Stand Flex:

can these be used on the bathroom floor?
kaye hart | 31 Aug 2018

Answer logo
Hi Kaye

These mosaics are glazed porcelain so can be used on bathroom floors from a wear perspective. However due to the gloss finish, we would recommend using bathmats or a towel in the immediate wet areas to minimise the risk of slipping when wet. We would recommend obtaining a sample to ensure you are happy with the finish before making your final decision.

Question logo
If I use the hexagon white gloss floor tiles with black grout, is a sealant needed to stop the white tiles becoming stained?
Joe | 30 Aug 2018
0
Answer logo
Hi Joe,

These tiles are glazed porcelain so a sealer would not normally be required. However the pigment in black grout can attach to anything. Proving the majority of excess grout, as it starts to set you should find it buffs off sufficiently with a micro fibre cloth. Any remaining haze can be removed using the LTP Grout Stain Remover. However the cleaning of process can be aided by applying a spray of the LTP Grout & Tile Protector before proceeding:

Hello, I need to fit these on a bathroom floor and I was told I need to use detramat before tiling. Can this go under mosaic tiles or is there something else I can use for waterproofing and non cracking? Thanks
Giorgia | 6 Jul 2018
0
Answer logo
Hi Giorgia

Because of the structure of the mat and because of point-loading, Ditra Matting cannot be used on mosaics smaller than 50x50mm. To get round this you would need to lay a thinner anti fracture matting such as BAL Rapidmat and cover over it with the BAL Tank-It System. Although not on our website, we do carry these items in stock. Please call our sales team on 01536 314730 for more information.

Are these suitable to place over existing tiles?
Deborah Woodcock | 4 Jul 2018

Answer logo
Hi Deborah,

Yes they can. You will need to check that the existing tiles are properly secured, clean them to remove any dirt or grease, and fix with a cement based adhesive such as the Stand Flex:

How easy it is to cut the the tiles sticking out? I was thinking of using these little tiles in conjunction with larger and square/rectangular tiles to break the wall, so is not all just the same!

Daniela | 5 May 2018

Answer logo
Hi Daniela,

The easiest way to trim mosaics is to score them with a manual tile cutter or scribe, and cut the edges off with a pair of tile nippers. This should leave a neat enough edge but can be trimmed down with a tile-file:

Question logo
Hi, can you tell me if these gloss tiles would be suitable for a wetroom floor or would the matt tiles be better?
Catherine | 14 Apr 2018
0
Answer logo
Hi Catherine,

From a slip resistance point of view, the matt finish would be slightly better than the gloss, however neither are guaranteed as a non-slip tile. The matt finish does give a degree of slip resistance that is suitable for the personal requirements of most domestic customers, but we would recommend obtaining a sample to ensure suitability before ordering.

If additional slip resistance is required, we'd recommend a tile with an anti-slip rating of CAT C/R11. Please contact our sales team on 01536 314730 for further information.

Question logo
Could these go over the top of tiles already on the wall?
Robyn | 11 Apr 2018
0
Answer logo
Hi Robyn,

Providing the existing tiles are properly secure and not loose, you can install directly on top. However you will need to ensure that the weight of the mosaics and the existing tiles, as well as the adhesive and grout, is withing the supporting weight limit of the main substrate (plaster 20kgs, bare unskimmed plasterboard 32kgs). If you are likely to exceed the weight limit, the old tiles will need removing before continuing the installation.

If you wish to discuss your project in more detail, please contact our sales team on 01536 314730 and they will be more than happy to assist you.

Answer logo
Hi Lisa,

Yes they can. In the image, a black grout has been used to define the shape of the tile. However grout colour is down to personal preference so white will also be fine:

Do you need to prepare lots of half hexagon tiles for filling the edges?
Ms. K | 27 Mar 2018
0
Answer logo
Hello and thank you for your enquiry.

As with any tile, we recommend you start from the centre of the area and work outwards, cutting the tiles as required up to the edges. If you start from the edges with pre-cut tiles, you may find the wall slightly out of true which can have adverse affects on the layout of the rest of the area, which no amount of adjustment can remedy.

Claire | 2 Mar 2018

Answer logo
Hi Claire

These tiles are ok to use in a bathroom, but to use on a shower or wet room floor, which is constantly wet and being hit directly by water, we wouldn't advise using anything less than an anti slip grade of R11.

Are these tiles suitable for use on a bathroom floor? We will be fitting a toilet on top in a small WC. Thank you
Imogen | 22 Feb 2018
0
Answer logo
Hi Imogen,

These mosaics are made from porcelain and are capable of holding the weight of a toilet. They are fine for all residential/domestic foot traffic and suitable for bathroom floors, but the gloss finish on these tiles will make them slippery when wet, so previous customers who have used these tiles on their bathroom floors have done so with bath mats or towels on the floor to step on to out of the shower/bath .
