3 projects to tackle this DIY Week

If you'd like to get constructive this Half Term DIY Week, but you don't know what project to undertake, here are a few easy-yet-stylish suggestions!

1. Freshen up your kitchen with a splashback

As a nation, we tend to spend a lot of time in our kitchen spaces. Whether we're chatting over breakfast, catching up with friends over a cup of coffee, or serving up a family meal together in the evening, it's all going on in the kitchen. It's widely regarded the social hub of the home. So it's important to keep it looking fresh and new. The easiest way to update a kitchen area? Add a new splashback.

A splashback is a surface that stands behind your sink or cooker. It's the perfect medium for injecting some colour, pattern or texture into your kitchen! Choose from 6,000 tile designs and follow our guide on How To Tile a Wall.

2. Make a tiled table

If you love your arts and crafts projects, this is the perfect DIY Week make for you! We've created a step by step guide to making a tiled table. All you need is a foldable table (B&M or Dunelm), some paint, and some Smart Mosaic Tiles! And voila - you have an eye-catching side table for your lounge or bedroom.

3. Create a feature wall or statement floor

If you want to add some personality into a bathroom, living area or bedroom, but you don't have the budget to transform the whole room, we have the easy answer you're looking for! Create a feature wall or statement floor. This is where you just decorate one surface in the room, but you use such powerful colours, textures or patterns, that it gives the room all the character it could ever need. The aim is to create a wall or floor space that really catches the eye of your guests as they step into the room.

Here's an example of a feature wall, using Split Face Wood Effect Tiles:
