For the second year running, Walls and Floors sponsored the Good Homes Room Sets at the Ideal Home Show! A leading designer put together six beautiful show rooms, with some fantastic styling ideas! Our tiles were featured in the dining room, kitchen, outdoor and bathroom room sets! The event ran from 24th March - 9th April 2017 at the Olympia in London.

The room set designer, Kate McPhee, hand-chose a selection of super-stylish Walls and Floors tiles for inclusion in the room sets. From striking patterned Moroccan tiles and industri-liscious concrete effects, through to realistic wood effects, trendy mosaics, and classic brick-shaped metro tiles. Here are the tiles she settled on...

1 - The Dining Room

The place where a lot of us come together with our families at the end of the day, the dining room is a key space in most households. Whether we're tucking into a Sunday roast, or we're hosting a dinner party with a gabble of guests, it's important to keep the dining room looking fresh and welcoming. If you want some inspiration for yours, check out the dining room set below...

Pattern tiles are a big interior design trend in 2017, and they're not going anywhere! They instantly catch the eye, and can be used to quickly created a statement floor, feature wall, or a striking splashback. Our monochrome Galena Tiles will appear in the dining room Good Homes Room Set. They were used to create the 'zoning' effect where patterned tiles are used in a block on the floor to 'zone off' a certain area.

The Industrial Trend, the idea of welcoming factorial elements into the home is a huge trend in 2017. Concrete surfaces are a major part of this. However, concrete flooring isn't readily available for everybody - you might have wooden floorboards, for example. That's where concrete effect tiles come in handy. Room set designer Kate McPhee has chosen our concrete effect Bottega Tiles for the dining room.

2 - The Kitchen and outdoor living space

Often referred to as 'the social hub of the home,' the kitchen is a bustling hive of activity. Whether we're fixing breakfast in the morning, cooking up a feast in the evening, or simply chatting with a friend over a cup of coffee, the kitchen is the heart of the home. That's why we should all strive to keep our kitchens stylish as well as functional. The room set below shows off a unique style.

It's no secret that the idea of creating the natural look in the home is a major interior design element. Kate used our Parlor Wood Effect Tiles to welcome a natural scheme into the kitchen Good Homes Room Set. This woody tile created a soothing base for the kitchen's scheme, which continued out into the outdoor living space. The indoor/outdoor trend is the future of home design and the kitchen / outdoor room sets worked together harmoniously side by side - one blending into the other.

3 - The Bathroom

The place where we can escape to at the end of a hard day, the bathroom can act as our own relaxing sanctuary. For ideas on how to make your bathroom space both soothing and on-trend, look at the bathroom Good Homes Room Set at the Ideal Home Show 2017 below.

For the bathroom room set, Kate chose to go with traditional white metro tiles. This brick trend is not going anywhere. It's the perfect way of creating a timeless, vintage look in a bathroom space. She has opted for our Matt White Rhian Tiles, as shown below!

Keeping with the brick trend, Kate chose some stylish brick mosaic tiles to help create striking focal points in the bathroom.
