Are terrazzo tiles expensive?

Genuine terrazzo is made from a mixture of marble, stone and glass shards, which form the scattered look it’s so well known for. Their alternative, terrazzo effect tiles, are made from durable porcelain, making them long-lasting and easy to clean. Not only are these tiles lower maintenance than the real thing, but they are available in a wider variety of colours, shapes and sizes at a much lower price!

What are terrazzo effect tiles?

Terrazzo effect tiles beautifully mimic the look of terrazzo without the high cost or maintenance of the real thing. Porcelain is a non-porous material, so terrazzo effect tiles are suitable for more places in the home than genuine terrazzo, such as kitchens and bathrooms, where they would be subject to excessive water and frequent wear.

How do you style terrazzo tiles?

Due to terrazzo tiles’ timeless and elegant look, they are able to blend in well with a wealth of different interior decor schemes. Whether you’re after a traditional, rustic look or a colourful contemporary look, there’s sure to be something to suit your style.

‘Busy’ terrazzo tiles that are designed with plentiful shards that are closer together, create a dramatic effect on walls and floors alike and are perfect for a statement look. Pair them with simple colours in similar tones to their design, as this helps to highlight the magnificence of the terrazzo pattern, showcasing their character and charm.
