Question logo
Is 150 mm actual or nominal size?
Are specials for step edge available ?
DOUGLAS JESSOP | 6 Sep 2021

Hello Douglas

Thank you for your query.

As with almost all tiles the sizing (150mm) is nominal so will vary from batch to batch by a few mm. There isn't a round edge tile for steps available sadly.

Kind regards

Question logo
Hi, we have these tiles for laying any day... but I’m being asked what grout colour I’d like! I’ve got the light blue / cream with the black and white edging - has anyone ever laid this combo with black grout?
Thanks in advance, :)
L Thompson | 25 Nov 2020

Hi Lauren

Thanks for your query.

I am not sure if anyone has done that combination with black grout before, however, we would suggest a mid grey grout is used as this will tone better with all of the tiles used. Black grout tends to back the black tiles look bigger than they are and also the residue is much harder to clean off than lighter colours.

Kind regards

Would you recommend using these tiles for a kitchen counter top?
Caitlin | 25 Nov 2020

Answer logo
Hi Caitlin

Thanks for your query.

While these tiles are durable enough for use on a floor they have not been designed or tested to be used on a countertop where hot, heavy and sharp objects may be coming into contact with them on a regular basis so we can't recommend them for that use.

Kind regards

Question logo
Do the back and white cava Victorian quarry tiles match the gosford border and corner tiles in colour?
Cathy | 22 Nov 2020

Answer logo
Hi Cathy

Thanks for your query.

It is common for customers to use the Gosford borders and corners with the Cava range of tiles however as they are from different manufacturers we can't guarantee an exact colour match. We always advise ordering samples to make sure you are happy with the tiles for your project.

Kind regards

Question logo
How true is the colour of the picture vs the tiles in real life? I know the description says they are off white (which would be fine for our purposes) but the picture on the site looks very pink? We will be using the Gosford border tiles. I know they are different manufacturers and so the colour will not match exactly but they'll look odd if the tiles are as pink as the picture here?

Hi Lisa

We try our best to get the images to look as accurate as possible on the website. However, with the lighting conditions of the photo being taken varying from the light in your intended area, and monitor/device settings, the images can vary compared to an actual tile. We, therefore, recommend that a sample is ordered to ensure the colour and finish is suitable for your project, before making your final decision.

If you wish to discuss your project in more detail or to arrange samples or a quotation, please call our Sales Team on 01536 314730, and they will be more than happy to help you.

Question logo
Would those work for a driveway please?
Kasia | 14 Jul 2019

Answer logo
Hi Kasia

These tiles are full-bodied porcelain and will easily support the weight of a car if fitted correctly. They also have a degree of slip resistance for wet conditions but we would still advise obtaining a sample to ensure it is suitable for your personal requirements, before making your final decision.

Question logo
I would like to tile my bathroom walls and floor with the same tile - would these be suitable for my bathroom walls as well?
Mina Heydari-Waite | 25 May 2019

Answer logo
Hi Mina

These tiles are a full-bodied porcelain victorian quarry effect, and as such can be used in bathrooms and showers without the need for sealing. Due to their weight, we do not recommend fixing over plaster or plaster skim, but instead tile onto bare unskimmed plasterboard, render or a tile backer board such as Hardie Backer. As with any tile, if you are tiling in a shower area, the walls need to be made waterproof if they are not already, using a tanking kit such as the Ardex WPC:

Hi there, I was just wondering if these are the same white as the white in the black and white border?
Kathleen Barker | 22 Aug 2018

Answer logo
Hi Kathleen,

The whites are very slightly different as the borders are from a different manufacturer. However they are extremely close and we would recommend obtaining a sample of each to compare before making your final decision.

Question logo
Hi,
I am considering these tiles, with the blue ones from the same range, for an outdoor patio area (3.5m x3.5m). Whilst I know from previous response they are fine for paths I am wondering are they ok for a bigger, more exposed area? I live in Yorkshire!
Thank you.
Sheila | 20 Aug 2018

Answer logo
Hi Sheila,

These tiles would be suitable for use in any external situation including patios. They have sufficient grip in wet conditions and are completely frost proof, so if correctly fitted, will withstand any weather conditions Yorkshire can throw at them.

We would recommend obtaining sample to ensure you are happy with the colour and finish before making your final decision.

Question logo
The picture shows these tiles in a garden. But the spec talks about kitchens , hallways and bathrooms. Can they be used for a front path? I want a black and white diamond effect with an edge tile.
Jo | 25 Jun 2018

Answer logo
Hi Jo,

These tiles, despite being named quarry, are actually full bodied porcelain. This makes them impervious to moisture, frost proof and fine for external use.
