Description
Trepanel® Smoked Oak is a stylish and affordable way to introduce the wood slat wall panel trend to your home. Designed with robust felt backing, these panels offer great acoustic benefits, helping soften sound and echo when fitted in line with the Trepanel® Guide. Whether you’re building a moody media wall or adding depth to a hallway or bedroom, this acoustic slat wall panel delivers both function and visual appeal. Each slat is made with lightweight, FSC-certified MDF that’s easy to cut and handle. Installation is quick and can be done solo (though two people make fixing easier!), with minimal mess, making it easy to transform your room. The real wood veneered slats feature a rich smoked oak finish with natural grain and colour variation, bringing warmth and a contemporary edge to your interior from every angle.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning and Maintenance
We recommend regular cleaning with a duster or soft brush to gently remove dust and debris, and avoid harsh brushes and scratchy materials.
DO NOT use any type of wood or furniture polish, as it can damage the veneer. Our panels are fully finished, so no need for additional maintenance or oiling.
Periodic use of vacuums with a soft attachment can easily remove dust from the felt back.
For more stubborn stains, use a damp cloth (not wet). If spills occur, use a clean, absorbent cloth to dry immediately.
Avoid excess moisture with Trepanel® as the felt back should not come into contact with liquids.
Installation Guide
Installation Guide
To fix Trepanel® we recommend using either black matt coated 38mm screws or Mapei Super Grip Panel Adhesive. One panel requires 15 screws or one tube of adhesive.
The wood veneer is a natural material, and each piece of veneer is unique in terms of wood's natural characteristics, that being texture, colour variation and grain. It also may undergo changes over time when exposed to light.
Please note: We do not recommend use in areas close to a heat source, e.g. a hob or fireplace, or where they will come into contact with water.

Q & A
Hi Dave To fill in drill holes in the felt you can use either a fabric patch, fibers, or a black bituminous sealant. Kind Regards Walls and Floors
Jacqui, These panels can be cut and used on cupboard doors. The thickness of the panel is completely up to you, however, we would recommend using the 10mm thick Trepanel LITE. Kind regards, Walls and Floors.
Hi Bindi, The TV should not hang from the wood slats, instead, you should either ensure the TV bracket is installed through the black felt or the panel should be cut around the TV bracket. Kind Regards, Walls and Floors.
Hi Dan, We would not recommend installing panels near a heat source as this may interfere with the adhesive used on the wood veneer. Our Trepanel Aqua® range would be more suited for this as they are able to withstand temperatures up to 50 degrees. Please see the link below: https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/trepanel-aquar-waterproof-smoked-oak-brown-wood-effect-slat-panels-6-pack-covers-2-88sqm Kind regards, Walls and Floors
Hello Tracey, Thank you for your query. Yes, shelving can be screwed onto our panels, we would recommend using longer screws and screwing in between the slats straight through to the felting. Please see the link below for our panel shelves; https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/trepanel-customise-black-shelf-519mm-inc-black-screws https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/trepanel-customise-black-shelf-759mm-inc-brass-screws Kind Regards, Walls and Floors.
Hi Omayra, Unfortunately, we do not ship abroad I'm afraid. Kind Regards, Walls and Floors
Hi Maureen, Yes, the panels can be installed horizontally. Kind Regards, Walls and Floors.
