5 -- Tiles suggested for all residential floors, medium to high traffic commercial floors and wall applications. These tiles are suitable as a floor covering for areas that are subject to severe pedestrian traffic over sustained periods (e.g. public areas such as shopping centres, airport concourses, hotel foyers, public walkways and industrial applications).

DESCRIPTION

These Beige Split Face Tiles have an impressive textured surface, and are perfect for bringing a unique, distinctive and defined look to an interior wall area - be it in a kitchen, a bathroom, a lounge or dining room. If you're unfamiliar with traditional splitface tiles, they're crafted from strips of natural slate which have been cut to different lengths, widths and thicknesses. These strips are arranged into a staggered, textured design, and are applied to a wall space. These Beige Splitface Tiles have a realistic splitface mosaic tiles effect design, and capture that appearance perfectly.

Since real natural slate split face tiles aren't suitable for use in showers and wet rooms, these porcelain split face effect tiles are the perfect alternative option for wet spaces!

They weren’t the colour I wanted. But that’s because I cocked up when ordering. That aside, the tiles were great value and quality. When I eventually received the same tiles but in the right colour, these cut well and are easy to install for a DIYer

Are these tiles suitable for use within a shower enclosure please?
Su | 28 Dec 2018

Answer logo
Hi Su

These tiles are glazed porcelain, so impervious to moisture and fine for use in correctly prepared wet areas. As with any shower installation, we recommend the substrates are made sufficiently waterproof with a tanking membrane, such as the Ardex WPC:

Hiya,

Please can you tell me if these are easy to clean? Thinking of having them in the kitchen as a splashback.

Kind regards
Olivia

Answer logo
Hi Olivia,

These textured split face effect tiles have a subtle undulation on the surface meaning they have a life like appearance but not so textured that they would be difficult to clean. Why not order a sample to see them in the light of your own home? When it comes to cleaning tiles we suggest using the appropriate cleaners, in this case https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/ltp-multiclean-spray-500ml would be a good option for those tiles as a splash back

Kind regards,

Hi, has the beige tile got some light grey in it, it seems to have by looking at the picture, just want to be sure as I am thinking of tiling around in light grey.
Mrs maureen ayrton | 18 Jul 2018

Answer logo
Hi Maureen,

The tile is made up of a mixture of cream, beige and brown. However it is also available in a grey version which has a few slight hints of beige:
https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/liguria-split-face-effect-tiles-grey-split-face-tiles

We would recommend obtaining samples to compare before making your final decision.

Hi
I’m looking for 2 large Matt tiles that would complement the beige split face. A darker and lighter shade for a bathroom design.

Any recommendations welcome

Answer logo
Hello Shaida,

Please take a look at these 2 tile options, one lighter and one darker form the same range https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/burghal-stone-effect-tiles-burghal-beige-tiles and https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/burghal-stone-effect-tiles-burghal-brown-tiles these should compliment the Beige Split Face Effect nicely. It would be best to order some samples so you can see how they go in the light of your own home.

Kind regards,

We are looking to purchase beige split face tiles 12525
Can you recommend a colour for the tile grout? Please
Neale Gale | 29 Apr 2018

Answer logo
Hi Neale,

With the multiple shade contained within the tile, there will not be an exact match. However the most popular colours for grout tend to be in either beige or brown (in particular, Coffee Bean), depending on whether you want a contrast or to blend in. We would recommend obtaining a sample of the tile and a selection of grout samples from our Norcros 4 into 1 range to compare before making your final decision:

Question logo
Hi, are these tiles ok for an outside wall if so what adhesive to use thanks
stephen facer | 11 Apr 2018

Answer logo
Hi Stephen

These tiles are frost resistant so can be used externally. The ideal substrate would be a rendered wall but can go on to brick providing the brickwork is in good conditions. We advise a flexible cement based adhesive such as the Stand Flex and a flexible grout from out Norcros 4 into 1 range:

What are the split face liguria made of?
Hugh Dunseith | 21 Mar 2018

Answer logo
Hi Hugh

These tiles are a glazed porcelain. This has an advantage over natural stone split-face tiles in that it doesn't require any special treatments during installation, they are easier to maintain, and can be used in wet areas such as showers and wetrooms.

Question logo
I’m thinking of buying split face tiles for my kitchen. However, I’m concerned about how practical they are in ‘greasy areas ‘. Would they be hard to keep clean?
Claire | 16 Feb 2018

Answer logo
Hi Claire

These tiles are glazed porcelain and impervious to staining. Any grease marks can be easily wiped off without any concern of long term discolouration. However it would be advisable to seal the grout with the LTP Grout And Tile Protector to prevent staining:

Do these tiles need to be sealed?
Anaise | 31 Dec 2017

Answer logo
Hi Anaise,

These tiles are a glazed porcelain so sealing is not required. However a coating of the LTP Grout and Tile protector would be advantageous to aid moisture repellance, cleaning and to protect the grout from discolouration:

Hi, Can split face tiles be used as a surround for an open fire
Leighton Williams | 22 Dec 2017

Answer logo
Hi Leighton,

Yes, these tiles can be used around fire surrounds. However, we would recommend the use of a heat resistant adhesive such as the Palace Heat Resist:

Hi. Would you grout these or can they be butted together for a real stone effect? If grout, what colour would you use and how would you arrange the tiles so you couldn’t really see the edges of the tiles. Thanks.
Jennette | 8 Dec 2017

Answer logo
Hi Jeanette

These tiles do require a grout joint of 1-2mm. The best layout for these tiles is either brick bond or random bond lengths to stagger the vertical grout lines.
