These tiles are porcelain so can be used on fire surrounds and around wood burners. However, if it is a working fireplace, we would recommend fixing them with a suitable heat resistant adhesive, such as the Palace Heat Resist:

These tiles are porcelain, so can be used externally. They also have a good texture which will provide a degree of slip resistance in wet conditions. However, we would recommend obtaining a sample to test, to ensure the finish is suitable for your personal requirements, before making your final decision.

This decor tile has a lot of variation in colour and therefore the options are almost endless in terms of what will go with them. The faux grout line is spaced to match the plain tiles in the range and as well as the Terracotta version, we also have a grey version:

The Maalem tiles don’t have an R anti slip rating on them, they are a matt finish porcelain tile and can still be used externally however. For a patterned R11 tile I can suggest https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/diamond-decor-matt-tiles or for a more decorative tile more akin to the Maalem you can opt for the https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/kingdom-tiles-jester-decor-60x60-tiles which is an R10 rated tile but still fine for outdoor use in residential areas.

These tiles are glazed porcelain, so sufficiently frost resistant for external use. The texture also gives them good slip resistance in wet conditions but would recommend obtaining a sample to test and ensure it is suitable for your personal requirements, before making your final decision.

These tiles are glazed porcelain which gives them a natural strength and heat resistance. They can therefore be used around/beneath wood burner when fitted with the Palace Heat Resist adhesive:

Yes they can be cut down the faux grout lines into strips, on a manual cutter, however being porcelain you will require a heavy duty cutter, such as a Rubi TS-66 Max ( https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/manual-tile-cutters-ts-66-max-tile-cutter ). Alternatively, for best results an electric wet cutter or an angle grinder with a diamond porcelain cutting blade can be a more cost effective and easier option.

These tiles come in packs of 7 (1.36 sqm). Depending on the size of the order, they will be wrapped to a pallet in their original packaging other than a few possible unpackaged tiles if the box is split to give you the exact number of ordered tiles. Smaller orders going by parcel courier have to be split down from their packaging into manageable packs of no more than 20kg each.

These tiles are porcelain so fine for objects to sit on and naturally heat resistant. If it is an active fireplace, we would recommend fixing with the Palace Heat Resist Adhesive:

No they don't. The faux joint are pre-coloured. Although there is not grout that is a 100% exact match, we recommend using the Mapei Ultracolour Plus Medium Grey to grout the normal joint and give a much closer to seamless look:

Being a decor tile, the Moon white we suggest is the colour that matches the plain tile in the range. However the Faux grout lines on the decor are different. There is no exact match however upon checking the samples, the Norcros 4 Into 1 Steel Grey would be the closest tone. Please contact our customer service team and we will happily send you a bag for the inconvenience.

These tiles are porcelain and frost resistant, so can be installed externally. However they do not have and anti-slip rating so we would recommend obtaining a sample to wet-test, to ensure you are happy with the finish before making your final decision. Alternatively, please call our sales team on 01536 314730 who can assist you in choosing a suitable alternative.

Thank you
Due to the varying designs on each tile, the overall appearance of a single layout could give the impression of being either more blue or more green.
This images in the download sheet are straight from the manufacturer but are only as accurate as modern graphic design techniques and lighting will allow which is why we recommend samples to view in your own area before deciding. Although it is very unlikely, it is possible that the designs can be altered by the factory, but if you could email us an image of the tile you have received to sales@wallsandfloors.co.uk, we would be more than happy to look into this further for you.

Everything we supply on the website is of first quality, fit for purpose and conform to BSEN14411 unless otherwise started. However it is very rare we have second quality tiles unless being sold off in our clearance section, in which we clearly define any abnormal characteristics.

These tiles are glazed porcelain and are fine to use on the wall in all wet environments such as a shower or wet room. We recommend sealing the area with https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/ltp-cleaning-protecting-ltp-grout-tile-protector-sealer which forms a colourless barrier and helps to protect porous grout joints from penetration by water, dirt, oil, grease and lime-scale, making treated surfaces easier to keep clean.
With regards floor use in wet environments; the matt finish of these tiles will offer a degree of slip resistance, so will be fine for bathroom floors etc, but for use on a shower or wet room floor, which is constantly wet and being hit directly by water, the matt surface will only give a slight degree of slip resistance; so we wouldn't advise using anything less than an anti slip grade of R10. We would advise ordering a sample to ensure the colour and the finish are suitable for your requirements.
Kind regards,
Walls and Floors
A good complementary product to this and any other tiling situation, is the LTP Grout and Tile protector. It forms an invisible barrier that will repel stains and aid cleaning:
https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/ltp-cleaning-protecting-ltp-grout-tile-protector-sealer

These tiles are porcelain so can be used externally. They have a matt finish that will offer a small amount of slip resistance in wet weather but we would recommend ordering a sample to ensure they are suitable for your project.

Walls And Floors
Being porcelain, they are frost resistance so can be used on external walls and in certain small-scale floor applications. A couple of things you should consider, is that being a grade 3 tile, they may be susceptible to scratching from external grit and dirt, and also they are not guaranteed as anti-slip, although the matt finish will give a small degree of slip resistance in wet weather. I would strongly advise ordering a sample to enure you are happy with them before ordering, but if you would like advise on other suitable tiles, please contact our sales team on 01536 314730 and they will be more than happy to assist you.

We need to order 12 tiles - how do we do this? How many come in a box?
These tiles have a smooth matt finish, so the patterns are not raised in anyway. There are “faux” grout lines scored in to the tiles which will need to be filled in when they are fitted. A popular grout choice for this is: https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/mapei-ultracolour-plus-grout-ultracolour-plus-103-moon-white-tile-grout to get the best effect.
Kind regards,
Walls and Floors
This tile is 447x447 which has been pressed and printed to look more like 16 individual tiles. Each tile/panel can be cut using the normal methods such as an electric or manual tile cutter.
The appearance won't be affected if you get the correct layout before fixing. Personally I would work them out to have a full tile along the front edge, then work from the centre of the front edge outwards to ensure symmetry and even cuts on each side. The back edge can then be cut in to suit the shape of the back wall/alcove.
If you need any further tips on laying, please email an image and the exact measurements of the hearth (in millimetres if possible) to technicalhelp@wallsandfloors.co.uk and we'll see if we can give you an idea of how to tackle it.
Kind regards
Walls and Floors.
would these be suitable to have below a log burner, as in used as a hearth?
Many thanks
Mr Hudson
These tiles are glazed porcelain, during the manufacturing process these tiles are fired in the kilns at temperatures in excess of 1000c degrees centigrade, and so are extremely hard-wearing and fine for use in a hearth
