Hi Cat these tiles are perfectly suitable for use in this area. Hi Rachael, The Scintilla range is a matt tile. The Cinder range has a "layer tech" technology, which combines a mix of matt & gloss glaze within the same surface

Hi Serafine, You shouldn't need to seal these tiles. However as the tiles are glazed, it would also be advised that the burner is not dragged over the surface and is instead lifted into position so ensure no damage is sustained to the surface.
