Trepanel® Noir Black Square Wood Panelling is a sleek and affordable way to embrace the contemporary slat wall panel look in your own home. These acoustic slat wall panels feature a strong felt backing that helps reduce echoes, perfect for larger rooms and open-plan areas when fitted using the Trepanel® Guide. With a lightweight, FSC-certified MDF core, the panels are easy for one person to cut and install, making them ideal for fast, mess-free transformation. Wrapped on all three sides with real wood veneer, the charcoal black slats offer a refined, modern look with rich depth and natural variation. Their square 600x600mm format allows for standout layouts like basketweave - great for adding impact to ceilings, feature walls, or a statement media wall.
Fixing Guide
To fix Trepanel® we recommend using either black matt coated 38mm screws or Mapei Super Grip Panel Adhesive. One panel requires 4 screws or a quarter of a tube of adhesive.
The wood veneer is a natural material, and each piece of veneer is unique in terms of wood’s natural characteristics, that being texture, colour variation and grain. It also may undergo changes over time when exposed to light.
Please note: We do not recommend use in areas close to a heat source, e.g. a hob or fireplace, or where they will come into direct contact with water.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning and Maintenance
We recommend regular cleaning with a duster or soft brush to gently remove dust and debris, and avoid harsh brushes and scratchy materials.
DO NOT use any type of wood or furniture polish, as it can damage the veneer. Our panels are fully finished, so no need for additional maintenance or oiling.
Periodic use of vacuums with a soft attachment can easily remove dust from the felt back.
For more stubborn stains, use a damp cloth (not wet). If spills occur, use a clean, absorbent cloth to dry immediately.
Avoid excess moisture with Trepanel® as the felt back should not come into contact with liquids.

Q & A
Hi Chris, Our panels are very easy to cut yourself. For the slats, we recommend a regular hand saw and for the felt, a sharp stanley knife. Please find our 'How to Install Wood Slat Wall Panels' video and Trepanel Guide linked below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVsyofQ3Vw4 https://m2.wallsandfloors.co.uk/media/amasty/amfile/attach/DesignDataSheet_Updated_3_.pdf Kind regards, Walls and Floors
Hi Ryan, The gap between the slats is 13mm. Kind Regards, Walls and Floors.
Hi, I have linked our 'How To' video below for this. If you skip to approximately 8:32, this topic has been covered step-by-step. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVsyofQ3Vw4 Kind regards, Walls and Floors
Good Morning Damien, Thank you for your query. There are several options for installing the panels. You can install using a high bonding strength nail-free adhesive, such as Mapei Super Grip, which I will link to below: https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/mapei-ultra-super-grip-adhesive Alternatively, you can use 38mm screws to install the panels. If you select a matt black colour, this will blend nicely with the black felt backing. If you are interested in the sound absorption qualities of the range, you can install the panels onto wooden battens, and fill the gap with fibreglass wool or rock wool to boost the absorption class of the product. You can find further information on installation methods within our Trepanel guide below: https://m2.wallsandfloors.co.uk/media/amasty/amfile/attach/DesignDataSheet_Updated_3_.pdf Many Thanks, Walls and Floors
Hi Youn The wood panels are not fire-rated and we do not recommend fitting them near a heat source. Kind regards Walls and Floors
Good Afternoon, One panel covers 144 sqm so for 17 sqm you would require 12 panels. If the height of the wall is 2.4m then this would work well but if your wall is higher and you need to make some cuts, then you may need to order a couple more panels. Kind Regards Walls and Floors
Hi Joan There are two panels per box but if you order an odd number, the single panel will be sent in its own box. Kind Regards Walls and Floors
