DESCRIPTION

Transform your home this season with the introduction of these Vecchio Floreale Indigo Tiles. Made from durable ceramic, they can be used on both wall and floor spaces in your bathroom, kitchen or living area. They have a blue and white vintage pattern with an aged, antique, weathered design, which adds real personality and character. Each tile has a grid scored into the surface. You grout into these score lines, and each tile gives the illusion that it is four separate tiles. For a closer look, order a sample tile. They have a matt finish.

Can you use these on the wall in a shower? Thanks B

Hello and thank you for your enquiry.

These tiles can be installed on walls providing they are of sufficient construction to support the weight. The tiles weigh approx 25kg including the fixing materials. Plaster can only support 20kgs per sqm, but bare unskimmed plasterboard (32kg limit) or Hardiebacker (100kg+) would be suitable backgrounds:

Shower wall needs to be tanked with the BAL WP1 Tanking kit to ensure it is fully waterproof. Once the wall is suitably prepared, we would recommend they are fixed with a flexible cement-based adhesive, such as our Stand Flex:

I know some folk have asked about the suitability of this for the surround of wood burning stove, but just to understand, does that means it's also okay for use around the sides and behind a wood burning stove? Thanks
Karen | 3 Sep 2019

Hi Karen

Yes, they can. But being glazed ceramic we would recommend a minimum of 6-8 inches clearance from the appliance to provide adequate ventilation and heat dispersion, to minimise the possibility of crazing.

If you wish to discuss your project in more detail or to arrange samples or a quotation, please call our Sales Team on 01536 314730, and they will be more than happy to help you.

Question logo
How do I cut these tiles? Most tile cutters say max depth they can do is about 30mm
Rita CArter | 22 Aug 2018

Answer logo
Hi Rita,

These tiles are only 9.5mm thick so cutting shouldn't be too much of a problem. We would suggest a cutter with a 400mm bed length with a break strong enough to snap the tile, such as the Rubi Star Max 51:
https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/star-max-51-with-bag

Althernatively they can be cut with an electric wet saw or angle grinder with the appropriate diamond blade.

Hi, what adhesive and grout would you recommend to use with this tile? It's being used to tile a hearth and surround for a wood burning stove. Thanks

Hi Lucy

Due to the likely high temperatures, we would recommend the Palace Heat Resist adhesive (resistant to 250 oC) and the Norcros 4 Into 1 Grout (150 oC):

Hi there, what would be the best grout to use with the Vecchio Floreale Indigo Tiles please
Colin Alder | 29 Apr 2018

Answer logo
Hi Colin,

For this range we would advise the Norcros 4 Into 1 grout range. Due to the multiple shades within the tile, there is no precise match, but we do offer grout samples so you can see the colour with the tile before making your purchase:

Question logo
Hello, would these be heat resistant enough to use in a hearth around a stove?
Atia | 28 Mar 2018

Answer logo
Hi Atia

These tiles are a hard grade ceramic making them suitably heat resistant for use on hearths and burner surrounds. We would advise they are fitted with a heat resistant tile adhesive such as the Palace Heat Resist:

Can these tiles be used in a hearth? Thanks
Katie Lee | 14 Feb 2018

Answer logo
Hi Katie

Yes they can. With a full coverage of adhesive, they are fine for gas and electric fires and will also hold the weight of a wood burning stove. However if it is a regularly used open fire, the excessive heat would require a porcelain or natural stone tile.

Can I use these in a shower enclosure?
Becky | 21 Jan 2018

Answer logo
Hi Becky,

These tiles are fine for all residential/domestic foot traffic and suitable for use on the floor in wet environments, These tiles have a matt surface giving the tiles a subtle slip resistant finish. We would recommend you order a sample first though to make sure you are happy with the colour and finish.

Kind regards,
