The prettiest tiles, look so gorgeous on. I would have said they have a Victorian influence but my picky fiance loves them and says they look modern, so they please everyone with all tastes in my eyes!! They get lots of compliments!

Question logo
Hi -

Couple of questions:

1) Is 19.85 kg is per 5 tiles or 7 tiles?

2) We are planning to use these on a skim plastered bathroom wall - are these tiles appropriate to use on this surface?

Many thanks,
RB

Hello and thank you for your enquiry.

19.85 kg's is the weight per square metre (5 tiles). For plaster and plaster skim, the weight limit is 20kg's per square metre, which this tile will exceed once you take the fixing materials into account (approx 24kg's total). We would recommend fixing these to bare plasterboard (32kg limit) or a tile backer board such as Hardie Backer (100kg+ limit). If they are also being installed in a shower area, both of these substrates would require tanking in the wet areas, with the Ardex WPC before tiling:

Which plain tile would you suggest to go with this please? We are tiling the floor and all walls. Probably covering the floor and shower area and some edging with these pattened ones but need something plain for the majority of the wall space.
Thank you.

Hi Rachel

A complimentary tile is down to personal preference but would suggest that a matt white wall tile to match the background colour of the floor. We would suggest obtaining samples to compare before making your decision but here are a few ideas:

Question logo
Hi - I have these tiles now ready to put on a wall, but I'm not sure what grout to use. In your pictures, the 'fake' grout within the larger tile looks white, but on the actual tile it is a little more brown.. (I see that now from your close up picture). How did you achieve this look in the bigger pictures?
Or I'd welcome some advice on whether grey grout would be less obvious than white!
Thanks, Ali

Hi Ali,

The tiles have been scored so the brown line in the tile can be grouted over in a colour of your choosing. Once finished it will give the impression of being four smaller individual tiles.

White grout will blend in better with the background colour of the tile, whereas a grey grout will contrast and make the tiles design stand out. We can provide samples of our Norcros 4 Into 1 Grout should you wish to compare colours before making your final decision:

Question logo
Hi - are these suitable for underfloor heating (centrally heated)? thanks
Ms Keel | 30 Jan 2019

Answer logo
Hello and thank you for enquiry,

These tiles are glazed ceramic and excellent for use on all forms of underfloor heating. It is vital to ensure that the heating is correctly commissioned before the tiles are installed. Should any cracks appear in the screed, we would advise installing a decoupling membrane, to prevent the cracks radiating to the tiled surface:

I'm going to buy these tiles for the floor of the traditional Victorian bathroom I am designing. Can you recommend some tiles that might be a good complement for the walls? Thank you!

Hello and thank you for your enquiry,

The tile we have used in the roomset image is the Marvel White decor:

Question logo
Please could you confirm whether these are suitable on the floor of a wetroom? I see they're anti slip but I wanted to double check whether they're definitely ok before I order.
Thanks
Nicki

Answer logo
Hi Nicki,

Yes they can. Even being a flat finish, this tile has a micro texture that when kept clean, gives a surprising amount of grip, even in wet conditions. We even had them independently tested to confirm and they have been deemed safe for bare-foot wet areas.

We would still recommend obtaining a sample to test as the anti-slip needs of every individual will vary and we would want you to ensure you are happy with the finish before making your final decision.

Hi there, we have decided to go with these but are still on a search for white tiles to combine with them. Can you point me in the direction of the white tiles that are on the wall on photo number 1 in the description? Thank you.

Hi can these tiles be used on shower walls and being a hob in the kitchen?

Hi Julie,

These tiles are flooring grade ceramic which makes them both water and heat resistant. They will therefore be fine for use in showers or as a kitchen splashback.

I would like a border/plain tile to go around the outside of the Ledbury powder blue - could you help please?
Dee | 5 Jun 2018

Answer logo
Hi Dee

There are no borders specifically designed to match the Ledbury tiles. However a Victorian style border can be improvised with our Olde English spare parts in a colour combination of your choosing, or you can go for one of our preset designs (the colours of which can be customised when ordering by phone). The pieces used are of a very similar texture. For further assistance in picking out colours and possible designs, please call our sales team on 01536 314730 and they will be more than happy to help.
