Hello
I realise the description states Black / White but the White in the pictures look more of a warm white / Buff / pale Cream, which is what I’m actually looking for... or is it photo quality and is actually a stark / crisp White...?

Hi Victoria

These tiles are described nominally as black and white, but they lean more towards a warm/off-white and charcoal. We would recommend obtaining a sample to ensure you are happy with the colours, before making your final decision.

If you wish to discuss your project in more detail or to arrange samples or a quotation, please call our Sales Team on 01536 314730, and they will be more than happy to help you.

Are these tiles suitable for use on a Hearth with a wood burner?
Thanks

Answer logo
Hi Emily

These tiles are glazed porcelain so can be used on hearths. They are heat resistant, but being glazed were would recommend appliances or items are placed on top rather than dragged over the top to minimise the chance of scratching.

If it will we a working wood burner as opposed to a decorative feature, we would recommend fixing the tiles with the Palace Heat Resist adhesive:

Hi Martha

The plain dark grey tile around the edge is the Rosebery Charcoal Street tile, which can be viewed here:

Question logo
Are the rosebery tiles frost proof and suitable for a vestibule and outdoor step?
Jayne BALSON | 23 Mar 2019
0
Answer logo
Hi Jayne

These tiles are porcelain so can from that perspective, be used externally. However, they do not have an anti-slip rating so will provide minimal grip in wet conditions, unless there is a mat or sufficient provision to dry feet on before walking on them.

We would recommend obtaining a sample to test to ensure it is suitable for your requirements, but would usually suggest that in potentially wet areas, for both domestic and spaces that people other than yourself are likely to walk on when wet, that an R11 tile is considered.

Are these suitable to use behind log burner?
Toni | 22 Mar 2019
0
Answer logo
Hi Toni

These tiles are glazed porcelain, heat resistant and ideal for use in a burner surround. Due to the high temperatures and heat fluctuations, we recommend fixing the tiles with the Palace Heat Resist adhesive, and grouting with the Norcros 4 Into 1 Grout:
https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/palace-heat-resistant-tile-adhesive-10-kg
https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/norcros-4-into-1-grout

Both products are suitably heat resistant for this particular installation, but if you wish to discuss your project in more detail or to arrange samples or a quotation, please call our sales team on 01536 314730 or request a call-back via the link below, and they will be more than happy to help you.

Are these tiles non-slip and suitable for use in a bathroom if they get wet?

Answer logo
Hi Karen

These tiles are a matt finish and does give a degree of slip resistant with small amounts of splashing water. We would recommend obtaining a sample to test for your personal requirements. If in doubt you would still have the option of using a bath mat or towel in immediate wet areas.

Hi Louise,

Any of the tiles from the Rosebery Statement range https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/rosebery-statement-tiles can be used in an en-suite on the walls. Why not order a sample or two to see how they look in your home.

Kind regards,

What colour grout would you recommend
Chris Smith | 25 Jul 2018

Answer logo
Hi Chris,

To better blend with the tile background colour, the Norcros 4 Into 1 Midnight Coal would be the closest. However we have installed these into one of our office kitchens using a standard grey grout which in our opinion also looks very good as a contrast.

The Norcros 4 Into 1 grout range no has sample colour available so we would recommend obtaining a sample of the tile and a selection of grout colours to compare before making your final decision:

Hi, would these tiles be suitable for outdoor use?

Many thanks
Harry Phillips | 9 May 2018

Answer logo
Hi Harry,

These tiles are porcelain so can be used externally on walls or on covered over dry floors. However they have limited slip resistance when wet/dirty so for regular external use including in wet conditions, our recommendation would a tile with an anti-slip rating of R11 or higher.

If you would like assistance in choosing a suitable tile, please call our sales team on 01536 314730 and they will be more than happy to help you.

Question logo
How do you clean these tiles? is it best to seal them and if so, what sealant should one use?
Do you have any alternative tiles with sparkle effects? I once went to a gym where they had a wonderful textured non slip floor with sparkles in it. It was very glam and very safe too, and could also handle mopping etc. Do you by chance know what this flooring was? Thanks and hope to hear soon.
Ingrid Burling | 11 Apr 2018

Answer logo
Hi Ingrid,

These tiles are glazed porcelain so do not require sealing. However you can seal the grout to prevent staining using the LTP Grout and Tile Protector spray. For regular cleaning and maintenance, we advise mopping with the LTP Porcelain Tile Cleaner:
https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/ltp-cleaning-protecting-ltp-grout-tile-protector-sealer
https://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/ltp-cleaning-protecting-ltp-porcelain-tile-cleaner-1ltr

The flooring you are referring to at the gym, sounds like it could be Amtico with a carborundum finish. However if you can send an image to our sales team (sales@wallsandfloors.co.uk) we can identify it and point you in the direction of the closest equivalent tile.

Question logo
Why are they so thin? Just got a sample and they are the thickness of a wall tile. Surely they would crack easily if something dropped on them - I've never seen such a thin floor tile - its a shame as design is great.
Ms Anya Louize | 8 Feb 2018

Answer logo
Hi Anya

It is a common misconception that thinner tiles are weaker, but we can assure you this is incorrect. With modern manufacturing processes and materials tiles are becoming thinner, lighter in weight and much harder wearing, and this porcelain floor tile is no exception. The key is in the fixing. All tiles regardless of thickness require solid bed fixing, and if laid correctly with no voids and a full supporting bed of adhesive, the performance of this tile will easily match that of thicker alternative.

I am looking for a monochrome patterned tile to use on the floor in a wet room. Would I be able to use this tile?
Elizabeth Ahir | 27 Dec 2017

Hi Elizabeth,

These tiles are fine for all residential/domestic foot traffic and suitable for bathroom floors, the matt surface of these tiles gives a degree of slip resistance in wet conditions, but we would recommend you order a sample first though to make sure you are happy with the colour and finish.

Hi Jess,

These tiles were designed to be a more practical porcelain version of traditional encaustic designs. So while mainly used for floors, they can also be used on walls too.

Hi can you please tell me whether the rose berry statement tiles are suitable to be used as wall tiles as a cooker splashback? Thanks
Deborah Smith | 19 Nov 2017

Hi Deborah,

These tiles are glazed porcelain and are fine to be used on the wall around a cooker. A good product to keep them in top looking condition is the LTP Multiclean:

Hi David

These tiles have a slightly varying dark grey/anthracite background with an off-white foreground pattern. The tiles are designed to replicate old original encaustic flooring.

A new image has been added, showing how 1 sqm would fit together. All the tiles are exactly the same, but are turned 90, 180 and 270 degrees to create the design.
